Poetry4Kids.com is a great place to explore a variety of poetry with your students! My students really enjoyed the funny poems as well as the classic poems. Each student chose a favorite poem to reflect on.

Kindergarten Students are using an application on the iPads called "My A-Z." This application allows students to take pictures, use their own voice, and create an electronic alphabet chart. They find items around the room that begin with each letter from the alphabet. They can use classmates names and take pictures or find other items around the class to help them complete their alphabet flip chart.
We are so excited about our new Computer Lab on campus! Thanks to the efforts of our new librarian, Mrs. Beck, we have an up and running computer lab! We are blessed to have technology in the classroom, but it is wonderful to have a place to go where there is a full class set of computers, where everyone can be actively engaged with technology at the same time. Where we can all practice a new skill or assessment together.
With our first visit, everyone learned their login information and how to get set up to their own laptop. Then we all took the starting assessment on Istation. Istation is an awesome literacy program that first assesses each child and then from there...takes the data and provides appropriate practice activities for each child to be challenged, at their level. We wouldn't be able to partake in such a great enrichment practice, as Istation, without the help of our wonderful P.T.A. Thank you P.T.A., this was a great investment!
Come visit the Library to check out a 'Clear' modem . Access the internet at home to complete projects, checkout Ebooks, and visit your teachers' blogs. Make sure to bring your signed permission slip with you.
I am so excited to announce that we have had several projects funded by 'Donors Choose', here at Woodview. Mrs. Beck, our Librarian, has received funding to purchase $800 worth of Ebooks for our campus to access. Mr. Allen, a third grade teacher, received funding to purchase Razz kids licences
for all of our staff members. Another third grade teacher, Mrs. Parker, received math and Science manipulatives that can be used in conjunction with the other two funded projects.
